The School operates the Nigerian educational curriculum with adaptations from other curricular. Whilst not laying claim yet to any affiliation, the International Baccalaureate Organization, IBO, has provided inspiration for the curriculum of the Olive Branches pre-school and Junior School, in its primary Years Programme, IB PYP. The Middle Years Programme MYP of the IBO have also inspired adaptations into the Nigerian Junior Secondary School and Senior Secondary School curricular being used by the Olive Branches Middle and High Schools respectively.

The Guidelines of IB-PYP. and IB-MYP :

  • Provide a common curriculum for international school pupils from 3 to 12 years old, for the PYP and 11 to 16 years old for the MYP;

  • Offer a balanced programme of concepts (or idea generation), knowledge (or critical consciousness of affairs), skills (to have good success in a challenging world), attitudes (or right disposition) and actions (geared towards positive change) for all children; emphasize deed understanding of important subject matters through an inquiry approach, as opposed to cramming, thereby encouraging a continuous genuine desire for learning.
