Background, Inspiration & Vision

The creation of Osun State, with Osogbo as its headquarters, led to an increased demand for quality educational facilities to provide The Pre-school, The Elementary, The Middle, and The High School Education in the State of Osun. The Olive Branches Schools, Osogbo, was dedicated to God on May 20, 2003, and was established to facilitate excellence in education in response to the influx of families desiring independent, high-quality schooling.

The school curriculum was adapted from standards similar to those of the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) and is founded on Christian principles contained in Psalms 128:3 and 53:8, as well as Zechariah 4:11–13 of the Holy Bible. The proprietors were inspired by divine revelation to give the school its name, The Olive Branches Schools, symbolising peace, fruitfulness, and continuity, as depicted in the Scriptures.

...to create and maintain facilities for the comprehensive education of childhood and children years, thus preparing them for critical consciousness about themselves as citizens of their environment, and ultimately grooming them to positively affect their environment; thus becoming responsible citizens of the global community, poised to facilitate positive change and sustainable development.

Objectives of The Olive Branches Schools

The Trustees of the Schools firmly believe in the instruction that we should train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it (Proverbs 22:6). Thus, The Olive Branches Schools were established to achieve the following objectives:

To provide a high standard of pre-school, elementary, middle, and high school education for pupils of both genders, all creeds, all religions, and all races, within a Christian culture and faith.
To adopt a curriculum and pattern of instruction targeted at developing open, inquiring minds, comparable to those in the best English international schools worldwide.
To promote joint responsibility with parents in facilitating the acquisition of knowledge, skills, working methods, and forms of expression suited to each individual pupil’s or student’s development at his or her personal pace.
To recognise the school as an extended family within which individual pupils and students can grow happily and naturally, while respecting and tolerating one another.
To inspire creativity and a love of learning in the child or adolescent, as well as the development of independent judgement and breadth of outlook.

To prepare children to continue their education in a variety of settings, at home and abroad, having experienced a wide range of relevant learning opportunities in a positive and caring atmosphere.
To groom confident communicators with polite and acceptable body language, and proficiency in English, French, and at least one major Nigerian language.
To engender awareness in pupils and students of their successes, both as individuals and as worthy members of various groups.
To provide pupils and students with knowledge, understanding, and appreciation of the people, religions, and cultures of Nigeria and other nations of the global community, thereby instilling an international outlook and respect for all races, faiths, creeds, and nationalities, with charity beginning at home.
To ensure the all-round development of children in academics, sports, Christian faith, Nigerian culture, responsible citizenship, and other relevant co-curricular activities, in a fast-changing world.
